Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has revealed that he took off Alexandre Lacazette in the second half of their 0-0 draw with Chelsea on Sunday, before his intensity had dropped. Lacazette has made a decent start to life in England, scoring two goals in six matches in all competitions, since arriving for €53million from Lyon in the summer. The 26-year-old missed a big chance during the draw at Stamford Bridge and was eventually taken off in the 66th minute. “I felt Lacazette had a very good first half. Paris Saint-Germain manager, Unai Emery, says he expects Edinson Cavani and Neymar, to reach an agreement over who takes penalties. The two players fought over a spot-kick, during their 2-0 win over Lyon in Ligue 1 on Sunday. Cavani and Neymar argued over the penalty in the 79th minute, with the Uruguayan eventually taking it, but he missed from 12 yards. “The penalties are to be struck by a few players, one is Cavani and the other is Neymar,” Emery said. “It takes a gentleman’s agreement on the ground to hit the penalties. “Afterwards, we will arrange internally for the penalties that are coming in, because I think both are able to score them, and I want the two to alternate in this exercise. “If there is no agreement, I will decide. I do not want it to be a problem for us.”

Liverpool forward, Mohamed Salah is a doubt for club’s opening Champions’ League group game against Sevilla tonight due to illness. The £36.9million summer signing was sent home by the club’s medical staff after reporting ill for training yesterday. Liverpool has however allayed fears among fans by insisting Salah’s sitting out of training was simply precautionary. Salah’s absence tonight would be a blow as the pacey winger has scored three goals in his opening six matches for the Reds. A fine start to his Liverpool career was rewarded with the Standard Chartered Player of the Month award for August. “I’m very happy to have this start with the team and to help the team win points and win games. Celtic have been charged by Uefa after a fan ran on to the pitch and appeared to aim a kick at Paris St-Germain striker Kylian Mbappe. The incident happened late in the first half of Tuesday’s Champions League match at Celtic Park, shortly after the visitors’ third goal in a 5-0 win. PSG also face a charge after seats were damaged in the away section. The case will be dealt with by Uefa’s control, ethics and disciplinary body on 19 October. Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi has shown off a new tattoo, and it’s a rather intimate one, of his wife’s lips just above his groin. The football star has continued to add tattoos in recent years and now boasts a full sleeve on his right arm, while the whole of his left calf is also covered. But now Messi has added another small but significant bit of ink to his torso. The 30-year-old now boasts the puckered red lips of new wife Antonella Roccuzzo. The tattoo is just above his groin, on the hip area that bodybuilders call ‘Adonis’ Belt’.

Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has claimed he feels weaker without Marouane Fellaini in his team. Fellaini has emerged as one of Mourinho’s key member, having endured a rough spell at Old Trafford before the Portuguese arrived last year. The 29-year-old missed the 2-2 draw with Stoke City on Saturday and remains a doubt for the Champions League opener with Basel due to a calf injury, but Mourinho has suggested that the versatile Belgian will be involved if passed fit by the medical team. “He’s an important player for me – a lot more important than you can imagine. “I feel weaker without Fellaini in my squad, doesn’t matter if it’s on the pitch or on the bench. If his conditions are improved, he will be selected, I need him,” he told reporters. Mourinho also confirmed that his central defensive pair will be Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof.

Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored twice as Stoke ended Manchester United’s perfect start to the season with a 2-2 draw at the bet365 Stadium on Saturday. Summer signing Choupo-Moting put the hosts ahead in the 43rd minute, only for United to reply before the break as Paul Pogba’s header deflected in off Marcus Rashford. Romelu Lukaku fired United in front in the second half, but Choupo-Moting levelled from a corner in the 63rd minute and Lukaku spurned the best chance for a winner when he swiped a shot over from close range with ten minutes to go. Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema, could reportedly miss up to six weeks, after picking up a hamstring injury against Levante on Saturday. Benzema was substituted in the 24th minute of Madrid’s 1-1 draw at home, after overstretching in an attempt to control a pass. Reports in Spain have suggested the Frenchman could miss over a month and he is almost certain to miss Madrid’s Champions League opener against APOEL on Wednesday. “Following tests carried out on Karim Benzema at the Sanitas La Moraleja University Hospital, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury in the semimembranosus of his right leg. “His recovery will continue to be assessed,” an official Madrid statement read.

Strong rumours have it that Diego Costa who is currently at loggerheads with authorities at Chelsea could have found an escape route from the debacle. Manchester United will be “strong and powerful” despite the risks that come with closing the transfer window earlier, says manager Jose Mourinho. United voted against the proposal passed on Thursday for next year’s summer window to shut before the 2018-19 Premier League season starts. “There’s a disadvantage where the market is closed for us and open for others,” said Mourinho. “But when we close our doors, we close the market for others too.” The Portuguese was in favour of the proposal voted for by  14 Premier League clubs  – the minimum needed for the plans to be approved. However, his club, Manchester City, Watford, Swansea and Crystal Palace all voted against, while Burnley abstained. The next summer window across Europe runs until  31 August .
