The guidelines for the 2017/2018 academic session Obafemi Awolowo University Aptitude Test Screening Exercise have been released. Below are the outlined guidelines as made available on  the university’s website .  The examinations will have multiple sessions per day. Each examination session will have a stipulated and advertised start and stop time. Each candidate will be placed in a particular session on a particular day. Candidates should arrive at the examination venue at least TWO (2) HOURS before the start time of the examination. Candidates will be physically and digitally screened before being allowed to write the examination. Once a candidate has been screened S/He must remain within the specified HOLDING AREA awaiting entry into the examination hall. Candidates will be required to observe approved CBT examination restroom guidelines. A medical doctor has made a truly revealing statement about how mango leaves help in the treatment of kidney diseases. Dr Bamidele Joshua, an Abuja based herbal doctor, said the consumption of mango leaves helps in the treatment of kidney and gall stones among others. 14-year-old Tejaswani from India invented a bicycle that propels on air. Without pedals or any use of fossil fuels, the “air bike” can run an astonishing 60 km on just 10 kg of compressed air. Tejaswani first conceived the idea when she was at a bicycle-repair shop. Details have emerged of the proposal made by the Nigerian Government to university teachers towards ending the indefinite strike by the teachers. The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, has given more details of the proposal made by the Federal Government to university lecturers towards ending the indefinite strike, saying that the meeting discussed seven issues which constituted the demands of ASUU. “We inherited these issues from past government but government is a continuous process, we have to address them,” he said, as he listed some of the demands and what government proposed to do on each. Speaking on the provision of fund for the revitalisation of public universities, the minister said government has accepted to start quarterly payment into the fund. ​The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has defended the pegging of 120 as minimum cut-off marks for university admission. The decision, which was reached at a stakeholders’ policy meeting in Abuja, has generated controversy with many universities rejecting the marks. JAMB’s Head of Information Dr. Fabian Benjamin, in a statement yesterday in Abuja, said the board would not be deterred and would continue to support policies that would bring Nigeria’s education out of the woods. He explained that previous cut off marks were never strictly followed by most institutions. Dr. Benjamin said most universities failed to fill their admission quota in the last 10 years.
